Chapter 804 Apologize At Her Grave

Seeing the situation, Cedrick gave Swain a look. Understanding immediately. Swain took Megan and left.

The area around Quawak was likely swarming with Joe’s men. If they appeared, they would be exposed to these

men.

Thus, Cedrick wanted Swain to bring Megan over first, while he monitored from a distance.

Cedrick had already arranged with the police force in Quawak, who were ready to respond to his commands at any

moment.

The sky began to rain, making the journey back to the mountain difficult as the path became muddy all the way.

Cedrick personally drove, following Swain from a distance. To avoid drawing too much attention, he specifically

chose a common Volkswagen car that he rarely used.

Megan sat in the armored vehicle, watching as they entered Quawak. They would soon be traveling on mountain

roads, and she was incredibly nervous. She asked, somewhat uncertainly, “Um… You will ensure my safety, right? If

there’s any danger, you’ll prioritize protecting me, won’t you?”

The response from Swain was, “As long as you stay within our sight, we will ensure your safety.”

The road here was already a winding mountain path, and the rain had made the surface of the road extremely

After navigating the winding mountain road, Swain followed Megan into the house. Megan trembled as she opened

the door.

Before she even had the chance to turn on the lights in the room, a dagger, gleaming coldly, was thrust toward her.

“Hide!”

Swain pressed the alarm connected to Cedrick, immediately pulled Megan away, and started fighting with the

individual in the house.

Watching the rapidly flashing red dot on his phone, Cedrick immediately got out of the car and took a shortcut up

the mountain.

There were already not just one but many people lying in wait inside the house. They all had guns in their hands.

Bang, bang, bang!

Three gunshots echoed through the black night, the intense commotion startling the birds in the forest, causing

them to flee with shrill cries.

Megan, terrified, clamped her hand over her mouth and nose, hiding in the small haystack outside the shack and

not daring to even take a deep breath.

Cedrick quickly arrived at the location, where Swain and several police officers were engaged in a struggle with the

opposition.

No lights were turned on in the house, and only the faint glow of the gun’s muzzle could be seen.

Before Cedrick even entered the house, his sharp eyes caught sight of a shadow sneaking away in the dark. He

quickly chased after the elusive figure.

This figure seemed somewhat familiar. It was somewhat similar to the shadowy figure he had glimpsed in the lab

that day.

“Swain, take control of the situation!”

“Yes, boss!”

Cedrick then chased after the shadow into the forest.

The person moved with agility, leaping and bounding like a cheetah in the night. He was clearly familiar with the

terrain here.

Fortunately, before coming here, Cedrick had already investigated the mountain road route, wouldn’t be confused

Bue to his injury, the man’s pace slowed down, but he continued to run through the forest with his wounded leg.

His speed was nowhere near what it used to be. After a short chase, he was caught up by Cedrick.

The man, drained of all energy, fell to the ground. Cedrick swiftly holstered his gun and immediately rushed

forward to handcuff the man’s hands behind his back. He grabbed him by the nape of his neck and removed the

disguise from his face.

The man’s features were strikingly chiseled, exuding a certain rugged charm. There was a prominent old scar, that

marred his face and detracted from his original good looks.

However, Cedrick would never forget the familiar features of his face even in death.

After the tainted milk powder incident, Joe had been on the run for five years. He had been injured and had several

close calls at the hands of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

This time, it was surprisingly easy to catch him.

Cedrick looked serious, feeling that Joe was up to some kind of trick again.

Caught by Cedrick, Joe was not at all surprised. Instead, he smirked and said, “Cedrick, long time no see. We finally

meet officially.”

Cedrick wore a cold expression, his voice icy as he said, “Given the choice, I wouldn’t want to see your face.”

Joe laughed arrogantly, his eyes filled with hatred as he glared at Cedrick. Gritting his teeth, he said, “I’ve been

longing to see you, Cedrick. A ruthless person like you should die in place of Eryn. No, you should go to her grave to

repent and apologize!”

Cedrick’s face was impassive. “That woman is not worthy of that.”

The few words seemed to prick at the sensitive depths of Joe’s heart. He screamed and roared like a wild beast

gone mad.

His crimson eyes were glaring intensely at Cedrick.

“You deserve to die, you really do! I should have just chopped you to pieces!”

Cedrick sneered with a smirk, “What’s more painful than death is a life worse than death. That’s why you’ve always

refused to kill me, intending to use the torment of my loved ones to make me suffer. Unfortunately for you, now

that you’re in my hands, you’ve lost your chance.”

The heavy rain was pouring down relentlessly. Soon, the ruthlessness in Joe’s eyes gradually faded, replaced by a

burst of crazed laughter.

“You should have guessed that I showed up on purpose to lure you out, right?”

Cedrick remained silent.

The smile on Joe’s face deepened. “Now that you have a wife and children, you should know very well what it feels

can take the lives of Chanaca’s richest man and his two little heirs with me, worth it.”
