Chapter 75

“What happened to Hedda?” Jack turned off the TV and asked.

“Hedda was taken away by Patric. He said that he found a doctor to operate on her. But there were

some problems during the operation. Hedda…”

Emma cried bitterly and continued, “I went to Patric and asked for an explanation, but he refused to

return Hedda to me and even drove me out!”

She covered her chest and sobbed.

Jack quickly poured her a glass of water and helped her sit down. He patted Emma’s back gently to

calm her down.

“What can we do? Patric is not someone that we can afford to offend.”

After he heard about Hedda’s death, Jack’s eyes turned red. But, it was Patric….

Jack was caught in a dilemma. On one side, there was his daughter’s corpse and on the other side

was Patric, who belonged to one of the richest families in S City. Even if he was heartbroken about

Hedda’s death, he didn’t dare to provoke Patric.

Nancy sat at the side as she silently gloated over Hedda’s misfortune.

When Emma recovered from her grief, she saw that Nancy was smiling. She became even angrier and

pointed at Nancy as she scolded her.

“You bi tch, it’s all your fault! If it weren’t for you, how could Hedda have met with a car accident back

then. Now, I’ve lost my daughter!”

Nancy snorted and smiled. “I didn’t ask her to get drunk and hit the car, nor did I send her to Patric and

forced him to have someone operate on her. What does her death have to do with me? Don’t slander

me.”

She rolled her eyes in disgust and slammed the crystal cup heavily on the coffee table.

“It’s all because of you, b itch. Otherwise, how could you have known about Hedda’s death in advance?

How dare you quibble? I’ll beat you to death today!”

In a fit of anger, Emma grabbed the remote control on the coffee table and threw it at Nancy. “All of

you, stop! Look at yourselves!”

Jack roared, and the two of them stopped.

Nancy moved to the sofa to keep a distance from Emma and said lightly.

She said, “Edgar will give an explanation to the public tomorrow. We can take this opportunity to

announce Hedda’s death.”

“What do you mean? Hedda has passed away. How could you use her like this?”

Emma became agitated again. Jack quickly stopped her and motioned for Nancy to continue.

“Tomorrow, we’ll hold a press conference. We can announce Hedda’s death and put all the blame on

Grace. In this way, we won’t offend Patric, and we’ll also gain an advantage when it comes to the public

opinion.”

Nancy had planned this conference for a long time.

Even if it had been Grace who died, she would ruin this bi tch’s reputation and make everyone despise

her!

Jack thought for a while and nodded in agreement.

“Then I’ll listen to you. Make all the proper arrangements for this.”

Jack was listless, and his face was filled with sadness. He sighed and walked upstairs with Emma.

There was only one day left before the announcement would be made. All the media were still paying

attention to this matter. The onlookers were also waiting for the truth to be revealed.

Perhaps it would be a tough night for many people.

Grace also waited eagerly for the press conference.

It was late at night, but she was still particularly clear-headed.

After she tossed and turned in bed, she got out of bed, walked to the cabinet, tiptoed, and took out a

small wooden box.

She gently opened it and took out a photo.

It was the only wedding photo of herself and Edgar.

If Old Mr. Fallen hadn’t forced Edgar to take the photo with her, there would be nothing left as a

reminder of their 3-year-old marriage.

Grace held the photo tightly as she looked intently at it.

Her knuckles turned slightly pale because she had exerted too much strength, but there was no

emotion on her cold face.

She stared so intently that she didn’t hear Patric knocking on the door.

Patric stood quietly by the door, looking at her and sighing in his heart.

“Edgar Fallen was cold and heartless toward her. Why can’t she still forget him?”

Just as he was about to walk in and comfort her, he was shocked by what Grace did in the next

second.

She picked up the scissors and cut the photo in half without hesitation. Then she cut the other half of

the photo that had Edgar Fallen in it into pieces.

“Grace, what are you doing?”

Patric came in and patted her on the shoulder with relief. “I thought you couldn’t forget him and you’re

always thinking of him…”

“How could that be?”

Grace sneered, and the expression on her face suddenly became extremely fierce.

“He owed me too much in the three years of marriage. It’s time to make him pay.”

A long night passed.

Nancy tossed and turned in bed, unable to fall asleep.

Edgar had not contacted her the whole day. She was busy preparing for the press conference the next

day and didn’t have time to call him.

Tomorrow was the day he promised to give the public an explanation.

If she didn’t talk to him before the conference, she would feel uneasy.

Leaning against the headboard, she sat up, reached for her phone, and dialed Edgar’s number.

The call did not go through. Only the familiar female voice rang. “The number you dialed is not

available.”

Usually, Edgar would occasionally put his phone on silent mode while working, but he would never-

turn it off.

Nancy panicked. Just as she was about to dial again, her cell phone rang.

After she saw the name on the screen clearly, she picked up the phone and asked anxiously, “Where is

Edgar?”

“I’m at the back door of your villa, Ms. Mellis. Can you come down in person?

The voice on the phone sounded very weak.

Nancy was shocked. She quickly changed into casual clothes and walked out of the door quietly.

Tim kept looking around and finally saw Nancy rushing toward him.

“Why are you here? Isn’t Edgar with you? Why didn’t he answer my call?” Nancy was full of doubts and

felt very uneasy.

She glanced at Tim, who lowered his head and kept silent.

Under the dim light, she could see that he was in an utterly disheveled state; his hair was messy, his

clothes torn and there were marks and bruises on his face. The pungent smell of blood clung to his

body.

“What happened to you? Who hurt you?” Nancy’s confusion turned into shock, but she became

increasingly uneasy.

“After Mr. Fallen knew that Grace had jumped off the plane, he drove to look for her. He hasn’t come

back yet. The signal there is poor. He probably could not receive your call. Besides… he probably won’t

be back for a while.”

“What?! He went to find Grace?”

Nancy felt nervous and anxiously asked, “Then, was my plan exposed?”
