Chapter 74

“She’s just a vegetable who is of no threat whatsoever. Why would I be jealous of her?” Nancy retorted.

“If you don’t believe me, you can ask the person who took her away. I had nothing to do with. Hedda’s

death.”

Emma covered her ears, screamed and ran out agitatedly.

As she watched her leave, Nancy finally couldn’t control her emotions and laughed out loud.

Originally, she had some doubts about what Sarah had said. However, from Emma’s reaction, Nancy

was sure that something must have happened to Hedda. No one would compete with her for the status

of the heir of the Mellis family anymore.

She had finally won a round!

Now that both Grace and Hedda were dead, no one would compete with her in her relationship with

Edgar, and no one would stand in the way of her path to more fame and wealth.

Nancy was in a particularly good mood.

She began to eat her salad contentedly.

After taking several bites, she put the salad on the bedside cabinet and threw off the quilt.

him away. “Where is Hedda?”

“Please calm down. You’ll disturb the others’ rest. Please go back.” When he saw how agitated Emma

was, the housekeeper immediately stopped Emma with the help of the other ser vants.

“What are

you waiting for? Come and help me!” Emma turned around and shouted angrily at her bodyguards.

While the bodyguards and ser vants of the Mellis family were arguing, Emma snuck into the villa.

She looked up. The light on the third floor was on. She quickly went upstairs.

Patric, standing at the stairs, saw Emma. Before he could talk, Emma grabbed his sleeve.

“Where is my daughter? I need to see her now!”

Patric frowned and pulled away from her. He straightened his cuffs elegantly and said, “Calm down.

She is receiving treatment in the room on the third floor. You can rest assured.”

Chapter 74

“No. I want to see her NOW!”

Emma could not be assured until she was sure that Hedda was alive.

Grace heard the quarrel outside. As soon as she came out of the room, she saw this scene and walked

over.

“Ms. Mellis, I told you that I would ensure Hedda’s safety when I took her away. You agreed at that

time, but now you’ve come to the villa late at night to disturb us. What do you mean by this?”

Seeing Grace, Emma immediately grabbed her and refused to let her go. “I don’t care about that now. I

want to stop working with you! Now take me to see Hedda. I will take her away right now!”

Grace frowned and pushed her hand away unhappily.

your fault.”

Grace suddenly loosened her grip, crossed her arms over her chest, and looked at Emma coldly.

Emma stag gered before she regained her balance and stared at Grace in disbelief.

“How dare you operate on Hedda without my permission?”

“Chad is operating on Hedda. He has a master’s degree in medicine and has won countless

international awards. He is the top surgeon in the entire surgical field. None of his operations have

failed. I believe you have heard of his reputation. If you rush in now and interrupt the operation, it would

really hurt Hedda.”

Emma, who had already walked to the door and held the door handle, hesitated for a moment.

She and Jack had wanted to invite Chad to treat Hedda before, but Chad was too famous and aloof. A

small wealthy family like theirs in Frant City couldn’t afford to do that at all.

“Grace was able to persuade Chad to come to Frant City in person!

Should I trust her?”

Emma stood in front of the door. As long as she gently opened the door a little, she would be able to

see her precious daughter in the room if she wished.

“I will trust you one more time, Grace. But remember, if anything happens to Hedda, I won’t let you off!”

She said unwillingly and left.

Grace and Patric looked at each other, breathed a sigh of relief, and returned to the operating room.

“Go back.”
