“All done! You need to apply this ointment twice a day. Tomorrow morning, I’ll—” While

Amelia was speaking, she looked up and saw Warren’s troubled expression. She was taken

aback and quickly inquired, “What is the matter? Did I hurt you while I was applying the

ointment earlier?”

However, Warren just looked at Amelia silently.

Seeing his lack of response, she became even more concerned. She reached out to touch

his face, but he grabbed her wrist firmly and asked, “What are you doing? Are you

genuinely concerned about me?”

“I am concerned about you. What is wrong with that? You were the one who suggested we

act like a normal married couple for a year or so,” Amelia replied.

“I did say that, but your concern right now, and the way you are expressing it, makes me

think you have fallen in love with me. Do you really need to put on such a show, Amelia?”

His voice had a cold tone t it.

Hearing that, she was dumbstruck. “Do you think that I’m acting?”

“Aren’t you? Or you are telling me you have genuinely fallen in love with me?” he asked,

slightly mockingly.

A feeling of bitterness crept into her heart. She had never put on a show in front of him.

However, there was no way she could tell him that she had truly fallen in love with him.

Even if she told him right then and there, it would be pointless.

Furthermore, when she had previously decided to end her relationship with him, she had

already resolved to bury those feelings deep within her heart forever and never tell him.

“You’re right. I am not in love with you. I will be more careful in the future,” she

murmured, lowering her gaze.

impressions in the future,” he said, putting his bathrobe back on before standing up.

every time she told him she did not love him.

Meanwhile, Jennifer had heard Felix talk enthusiastically about a lot of fun places in

Lommore, and she insisted on visiting them. Because of that, Rosalie and Jonathan

decided to take their three children to Lommore’s scenic spots and attractions.

However, as Rosalie observed the three children, she couldn’t help but feel that Guillermo

seemed like a third wheel.

Thinking about it, she realized that Felix could be considered Jennifer’s childhood friend,

and Karina could also be considered Zaid’s childhood friend. Guillermo was the only one

who had never had a childhood friend.

“What are you thinking about?” Jonathan asked.

The three children on the cruise ship curiously looked around at the scenery on the lake.

Felix then proceeded to describe all of the breathtaking scenery to them, almost as if

reciting a textbook.

He was so good at it that one had to wonder if he had memorized the tour’s guidebook.

“I was thinking that Jen is very fortunate to have a childhood friend like Felix. After all,

children’s feelings are the purest. I wonder when Guille will find his,” Rosalie responded.

“Why? Do you really want Guille to have a childhood friend as well?” Jonathan asked.

“Of course! Don’t you think having a childhood friend is sweet and something to be

yearned for?” Rosalie replied.

“Sweet and something to be yearned for?” He raised an eyebrow. “So, you also want a

childhood friend?”

“Yes, when I was a child… Her voice abruptly came to a halt as she felt the atmosphere

around her becoming tense. Jonathan’s body was getting closer, his hand wrapping

around her waist, nearly imprisoning her in his embrace.

Even though they had rented the cruise ship for themselves, the situation felt somewhat

embarrassing. Aside from the three children, there were also bodyguards and boatmen

accompanying them. There were quite a few people present.

“Are you jealous? It’s natural for a girl to want to be protected by a childhood friend. It’s

just a random thought. Besides, I do not have one,” she mumbled.

“Doesn’t Calvin count?” Jonathan asked, his beautiful eyes fixed on her.

Rosalie was taken aback when she heard Calvin’s name mentioned. Indeed, they had met

when they were kids. However… “Meeting someone as a child does not necessarily make

them your childhood friend. Besides, the total amount of time I spent with him as a child

was less than 24 hours.”

Hearing that, Jonathan lowered his head and gently brushed Rosalie’s cheek. He piped up

in a cold voice, “Yes, you spent less than a day together back then. However, because of

that brief encounter, Calvin ha developed feelings for you and will remember you for the

rest of his life. Do you think you two would have become childhood friends if he had not

lost contact with you back then?”
