Some guests saw Serenity coming in and exclaimed immediately, “Oh, look who’s here! I used to think that Serenity

was the most successful in the Walker family. Who would’ve known? She has now ended up being the worst. Lynette

The guest was belittling Serenity to flatter Lynette, which was what Lynette would have loved to hear before.

Everyone had always compared Lynette and Serenity to each other. They were close in age and looked so much

alike when they were young.

Serenity had been one of the brightest kids at school. She was good at her studies and had gone to a prestigious

university. Lynette, who was less educated, was naturally ashamed by the comparison.

Lynette’s face changed. She gave Serenity a sidelong glance, fearful that her relative’s words would remind her of

“Enough! Stop it!” Lynette cut in, stopping the relative from speaking further. “Serenity has nothing to do with

After berating her relative, Lynette hurried to Serenity and urged, “Serenity, please don’t listen to her. They’re just

talking nonsense. Don’t let them cause a rift between us.”

Serenity turned to Jackson, only to see his lips parting to speak. “I must have lived to meet and fall in love with

you.”

Falling in love with Serenity made Jackson feel like there was more to life than just living. He finally had something

he wanted -a hopeful future.
