Chapter 43 Flatly Rejected

Stanley cocked his eyebrows ever so slightly as he met his son’s eyes with a warm gaze.

“Daddy… Don’t tell me you forgot all about this!” Samuel’s eyes widened with shock. “There was a lady

around when you made the promise that day we came over to bring you chicken soup! She can be our

witness if you forgot about it!”

Naturally, Stanley remembered what he said, but… he had spoken non–committedly at the time.

Monica was standing at the door. She saw Stanley bending down to do a pinky promise with the

children. His lips were curved into a smile. She couldn’t remember how long it’d been since she last

As she watched him, she felt both pleased by and jealous of the sounds of laughter coming from inside

She only walked into the room when she saw the children kissing him goodbye.

Her eyes fell on the children’s faces. They looked like precious little dolls with chubby cheeks that

made them even more adorable.

Stanley was holding Pamela’s hand, and just like last time, he completely ignored Monica’s presence

as he walked past her.

Meanwhile, Pamela glanced back at Monica. Does that pretty lady have feelings for Daddy?

Stanley finally spotted Monica. He sat down at his desk and was back to his usual cold and aloof self.

Monica walked over to him. She knew his time was precious, so she got straight to the point. “I invited

a gastroenterologist from Findel over. It’s extremely hard to book his time. He’ll arrive in Riverdale at

8.00AM tomorrow. Please spare two hours of your time for him to do a diagnosis.”

“You don’t need to go through all that effort.” Stanley had a neutral expression on his face. “I’m fine.

“I’m not sure about that, but don’t worry. His condition is improving.”

The villa at Emerald Harbor was brightly lit.

Melinda didn’t enter the kitchen. She didn’t make any food for Stanley. After all, she was still furious

over Jennifer’s treatment of her.
