Sean was still complaining when they reached the airport.

However, when he saw Gwen emerging from the crowd, he was overwhelmed with emotions. At the same

time, he felt a surge of adrenaline.

“Gwen!”

Sean couldn’t believe his eyes. For a moment, he felt like he was in a dream.

He rushed forward and tightly embraced Gwen. Only then did he believe it wasn’t a dream but a reality.

Gwen had finally come to the country where he had grown up!

Meanwhile, Gwen was taken aback. She hadn’t expected Sean to hug her in front of so many people.

After a while, he finally let go of her. With a mix of excitement and anticipation, he gazed at her. “Why are

you here? Is it-”

“I’m here on a work trip. So I thought I might as well take the opportunity to visit Carol,” Gwen replied.

She noticed Sean’s disappointed expression. Then, almost instinctively, she added, “Of course, I can also

meet you. You’re all in the same place, anyway.”

Upon hearing those words, Sean instantly raised his eyebrows. “Really?”

“What do you mean by that? Hi, Carol!” Gwen quickly shifted her attention by pulling Caroline.

“How have you been?”

Before she could finish her sentence, the tall figure next to Caroline caught Gwen’s eye.

“You… look familiar.”

Gwen stared at Kirk for a while before she finally recognized him. Just as she was about to speak, Sean

covered her mouth and pulled her toward the car.

“Let’s get in the car first!”

Caroline felt a sense of relief as she observed their interaction. In truth, she had been hesitant to tell Sean

about Gwen’s backstory. She hadn’t been sure if it was the right decision.

But at that moment, Caroline knew she hadn’t made a mistake. She could see that Sean genuinely cared

about Gwen.

And most importantly, Gwen hadn’t shown any resistance to Sean.

Right then, Kirk noticed Caroline’s faint smile. “Why are you smiling?” he asked while beaming.

“Nothing.”

Caroline retracted her gaze and then looked at Kirk. “Mr. Y, let’s go back too.”

In the car, Gwen peeked at Caroline and Kirk, who were sitting together. She had so many questions to

ask, but Sean had warned her against voicing them just moments ago. So she could only keep her

questions to herself.

Nevertheless, Gwen was genuinely happy to see them back together.

At first, she had been mad at Kirk for lying to Caroline. Yet, so much time had passed, and she had long

let it go.

Besides, how could the deception carry on if it hadn’t been for love?

When they arrived at Yates Manor, Gwen was shocked at the sight of it.

She pointed at the gate that was slowly opening and asked nervously, “Is this your house?”

Wasn’t Sean just a doctor? Gwen couldn’t help but wonder if doctors earned a lot now.

Sean chuckled before responding, “Yes.”

After saying that, he cast a meaningful glance at Kirk. “No need to be surprised. You’ll be amazed once

you see someone else’s house.”

Gwen raised a brow while looking at Kirk. The manor before her was already impressive. Was Kirk’s house

even more stunning than this?

On the other hand, Caroline didn’t understand what Sean said. “Who is it?” she asked curiously.

“The wealthiest person in Macldo,” answered Sean. “Alright, let’s get out of the car.”

With that, the four of them got out.

Betty, who was instructing the household staff to tidy up the place, heard the commotion. She turned

around and saw that Sean and the others had returned.

Her eyes lit up when she noticed Gwen standing beside Sean.

She walked over, smiling as she looked at Gwen. “And who might this be?”

Gwen instinctively glanced at Sean. Yet Betty promptly noticed this small detail.
