Chapter 783

The phone’s ring scared Eddy half to death. He took a furtive glance at the screen to see that the caller was none

other than Avery.

He quickly answered the call and vented all his anger on her by lashing out at her.

“Didn’t you say that Caroline will definitely marry me after she lost her memories? Why did she resist the idea of

marrying me so much when I brought it up to her?”

Stunned by Eddy’s outburst, Avery took a moment to respond.

She laughed and said, “You’re much too impatient. I told you that I have a plan, didn’t I?

“I’m calling you this time to tell you that everything’s prepared.”

She continued, “Just take Caroline out tomorrow.”

“Are you sure it’ll work?”

Avery’s words extinguished Eddy’s flames of rage by a considerable degree, but he still couldn’t stop

himself from worrying.

“Worry not. My plan will surely work.” She sounded very certain of herself.

“No woman can resist it.”

Despite that, Eddy didn’t believe her.

“Caroline still misses Uncle Kirk even though she’s forgotten all about him. She just doesn’t know that

he’s the one she’s missing,” said Eddy.

“Are you sure that I’ll succeed in proposing to her under these circumstances?”

Annoyed, Avery snapped, “Do you want to marry her or not?”

Eddy didn’t give it a second thought. “Of course, I want to!”

“If that’s the case, you should just do what I say and take her out tomorrow.”

Avery’s demanding tone made Eddy’s brows crease into a frown, but the thought that he was going marry

Caroline soon made him swallow his annoyance. “Okay,” he said.

Now that she had gotten an answer, Avery smiled and hung up. She put her phone down.

Finn, who had been sitting in his armchair all this time, spun around to face her.

“How did it go? Has Eddy agreed to marry Caroline?”

Avery twirled a lock of her hair in one hand and sneered. “He planned to marry her since the very beginning. I’m

doing this so that it’s set in stone as soon as possible.”

“Do you think Kirk will give up for good when she marries Eddy?”

Avery raised her eyes to meet him, her gaze vicious. “I know what you’re trying to tell me.

“I don’t care if Kirk gives up or not. All I want is for Caroline to marry Eddy so that Kirk becomes single

again.”

“It doesn’t matter if she has a place in Kirk’s heart. It has got nothing to do with me.”

She continued, “I’ll make him fall in love with me slowly when he returns later.”

“Aren’t you quite the confident one?” Finn said, his voice dripping with sarcasm, but Avery pretended as if

she didn’t hear him.

Watching her leave, Finn picked up a pen on the table and toyed with it.

Avery was still young, so she hadn’t been through enough to know that love was the hardest thing to ever

change.

Unfortunately for her, she might never ever get to marry Kirk.

Early the next morning, Eddy approached Caroline when she was having breakfast.

“Let’s head outside for a walk.” He seemed pretty pleased with himself when he spoke.

Caroline glanced out the window and saw that it was sunny outside. “Sure. I also want to head outside

and take a look.”

She had been staying here in the house since she had lost her memories and hadn’t been out much.

“We’ll leave after breakfast then?” Eddy asked, glancing at Caroline. She nodded.

After filling their stomachs, they got into the car and left. Caroline sat in the backseat and asked, “Where

are we going?”

Eddy looked through the rearview mirror at the driver, who said, “We’re going to Belrene Square, Ms.

Evans.”

“Why?” Caroline turned to ask Eddy.

“To grab something to eat,” said the driver.

Caroline stared at Eddy, confused as to why the person who answered her was the driver and not Eddy

himself.

It was as if the driver was the one who had planned their schedule that day.

“Yes, we’re going there to eat,” Eddy said, sensing that something was off.

“Okay,” said Caroline.
