"You..." Josie was insistent, leaving Juliette with no choice but to relent.

All Juliette could do was watch as Josie's silhouette receded into the distance.

Dexter had done it on purpose, embarrassing Josie in front of everyone. The more Josie thought about it, the angrier she got. As she walked down the bustling streets, her mood remained tense for a long time.

She hadn't been walking for long, maybe about three minutes, when a horn sounded abruptly from the roadside. A sleek black sports car pulled up smoothly beside her. The window was partially lowered, revealing a man's face that was both nonchalant and intense. "Get in the car." Dexter had chased after her.

Josie gave him a quick glance, then briskly continued on her way.

The man's voice followed her. "Are you askingto take action right here?" Supercars were naturally flamboyant, especially when they were on the busiest streets. By that point, they had already attracted quite a few onlookers. Josie took a deep breath. To take action there, Dexter was indeed capable of doing so, and who knew what would happen next? Thus, Josie relented.

When she turned around, the car door rose, awaiting her to take a seat.

The car ride was silent, and in the end, they returned to the top floor of Russell Group.

The place was already deserted, with only the coffee remaining as it was not long ago.

Josie was seized by the wrist and pushed into the lounge. As the door closed behind her, she stubbornly remained silent, her defiant profile not uttering a single word.

"Enough, Jo." Dexter's voice softened, laced with a hint of helplessness. He sat in a high position, forcing her to look at him. "What's the fuss about?" Josie's irritation flared up again. "What's the point of askingwhat's wrong, Dexter? Do you find it amusing to putin an awkward position deliberately?" Knowing that she couldn't free himself, she decided not to waste any more energy.

Dexter glanced at her, pouring water single-handedly and directly urging her to drink it. "Calm down first." The water trailed down her chin, imbued with an air of restrained desire.

The cool water slid down her throat, genuinely soothing her mind.

Suddenly, Dexter said, “Didn't we agree not to let Juliette know about our relationship?" Josie looked up. "What do you mean?" "Under such circumstances, if I were ne to act as if nothing happened and accept your subpar gift, it would be strange Juliette didn't suspect anything," Dexter said, his thin lips parting slightly as he patiently asked, "That gift was prepared by her, wasn't it?" Josie stiffened because he was right.

Dexter knew her too well and that she would never gift him something. Even if she did, it'd be a knife, not porcelain.

Her silence answered everything.

"Do you think she knew the blue porcelain was a fake?” asked Dexter.

"No way. Before she came, she kept remindingto thank you properly," Josie quickly responded.

Dexter nodded. "What if she wanted to see you embarrassed?" "Are you out of your mind? That's your friend you're talking about. You shouldn't be making assumptions about them like that.” Thus, he rephrased his question, "What if she was intentionally testing you?" Overwhelmed, Josie simply gave in, et collapsing onto the spotlessly clean floor. She was the picture of total surrender. "I don't know, nor do wish to know. Dealing with you people and your complex minds, it's truly exhausting for me." His hand lifted her chin, his gaze catching a crucial flicker in her eyes. "What do you mean 'you people'?" Josie realized she had misspoke and tried to bolt upright to flee.

However, Dexter firmly caughtby the waist, causing her to tumble directly onto his lap. "Jo, who else is there?" He lowered his head, planting a kiss on her earlobe. Half of Josie's body went numb.

She let out a raspy cry. "Letgo." "If you don't tell me, there will be consequences." A shadow fell before her, and her body collapsed recklessly, with no room for her to escape.
